I have two new publications uplifting the work of Long Beach youth organizing groups, whom I’ve been privileged to support over the past 9 years.

“The Invest in Youth Long Beach Coalition: Youth of Color at the Forefront of Anti-Racist Governance and Planning,” published in Journal of American Planning Association (Special issue on Anti-Racist Futures in Planning) & co-authored with Dr. R. Varisa Patraporn (CSULB, Sociology), highlights how the Long Beach Invest in Youth coalition transforms the power landscape of planning.

“Khmer Girls in Action and Healing Justice: Expanding Understandings of Anti-Asian Racism and Public Health Solutions,” in Frontiers in Public Health (Special issue on anti-Asian racism & public health), highlights how KGA’s organizing challenges limited notions of anti-Asian racism and public health by multiple forms of healing uplifting Southeast Asian American youth.
