Youth Organizing Evaluations

Under the guidance of my dissertation co-chair Veronica Terriquez, I have worked on several evaluations of youth participation in community-based organizations. I helped lead evaluation efforts of Building Healthy Communities in Long Beach and Santa Ana. I managed and trained a team of college and high school interns to administer surveys, conduct interviews, and report and disseminate findings. I coordinated and oversaw survey administration and interviews. I conducted interviews with youth and staff organizers about youth organizing in Santa Ana and Long Beach. I contributed to the writing and editing of popular reports summarizing interview and survey data.

In addition, I have worked with Professor Terriquez to conduct an evaluation of The California Endowment’s President’s Youth Council . I also worked with Prof. Terriquez and other researchers to conduct interviews and write a report to the Weingart Foundation about challenges and opportunities faced by youth organizing groups in Southern California.
